Oh Disney....

Oh my are we starting the new year off COLD!!! We leave Friday for Disneyworld. It can not come soon enough. Stay tuned to my blog for updates live from Disney. However, before we can get there we have to stay well. On my way home Sunday from a day of returns I got a text from the sitter that C'man wasn't feeling well. When I called her he just threw up! I didn't know whether to speed home or go slow. The thought of vomit on the floor just about made me gag!
I guess the germs from my family that all got sick over Christmas must not have been gone by the time we visited my parents on Friday. (the ENTIRE family, spouses and kids, got sick at my parents on Christmas!)  He is not a puker so he's only puked about 5 times. Poor kid wants to drink water, begs for it! But he'll just puke it back up. However since late last night he's been puke free!
I'm wondering who will get it next? I'm going to call doc's office and see if there is anything he can prescribe to offset 'it' should it hit before we leave or while we're gone. I think there is something isn't there? Tamflu or something like that??

Yuck enough of 'sick' talk. I continue to work on my new blog and hope to start using it in the weeks to come. I've greatly enjoyed the blogs you all have shared with me and looking forward to reading them. I will also be posting blogs i read on a frequent basis, if you would like yours listed, please let me know. Not sure if one should ask permission before posting it or not? But since I'd probably appreciate it, I'm going to ask:)

Now time to go clean that darn fish tank.....

Bronchittis

Here I sit Monday afternoon. I had to take Miss A back in as she just doesn't seem any better. Fevers of @ 102-103 and go down to 100 and that's where they sit. Even with Tylenol and Motrin. The doc went ahead and treated her for Bronchitis. She still is real tight in her lungs so really the coughing and crap hasn't even started with her. It has for Mr C'man. While he didn't go with us, Doc is treating him too. All three of us are on the same antibiotics.

My disclaimer, yes I despise antibiotics and try to do whatever I can to avoid them in my kids and me. BUT I'm also at the point in all our illness that we need to do something. It'll be a week Tuesday that I got sick and the kids followed. This is why I am against anti. tho is had we ran to the doc for every little cold, ear infection, etc when we really needed them to work, like now, they wouldn't. So yes a necessary evil. Especially for kids. I strongly believe antibiotics should be avoided at all measures hense why we didn't get any the first visit and that was in agreement with our doc too. Three years ago was when I got hit with MRSA. After that experience is what made me realize the importance of antibiotics and what can happen if you over take them!!

Coming down from my soap box

Miss A has been napping for 3 1/2 hours now! I will continue to let her nap. Mr C'man was at my in laws and came home and is also napping, on the couch. Here's some pics or our lives for the time being.

Thank goodness DH doesn't know how to zoom in:) But this is me trying to take care of some things on the computer.

I guess I don't have any of Miss A. Took sick to see any sort of humor in it I imagine:)

Things aren't looking much better around here. I think I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, it's just a glimmer, but its something. Meanwhile Miss A was good all day yesterday only to have her fever return today. C'man appears ok today, but wasn't yesterday. His poor lips have fever blisters on them. He fell asleep later yesterday afternoon on the couch against me. He keeps saying he has a hole in his lip! It looks like it.
Somehow, DH has NOT gotten anything. Doesn't even feel anything coming on. I pray it stays that way. It hit the three of us within 24 hours of the last person getting it.
I still had a fever yesterday and felt no relief. I caved and called my doctor. He called in a prescription. I'm not a big antibiotic person but i knew that I was heading towards becoming sicker and sicker. Luckily it was something i happen to have in my cupboard from a couple years back, and the Pharmacist said i could just take that. I would have had to drive 30 min to pick up the new prescription and with the way I was feeling AND the kids?? I just couldn't imagine having to go.
Amazingly we are not going stir crazy! I'm disappointed that we are missing our annual Crop Walk where we walk to fight world hunger. But then I wouldn't have been able to catch my breath to walk from the house to the chicken house, there would have been no way I could walk.
I have a purse party too Monday night. It's looking unlikely that I'll be able to do it. Total bummer but I can't possibly cough like this and be out in public. Everyone should understand that was planning on coming. Something one can not control.

Well I guess my doom and gloom post should stop now:) Did I mention that when i cough I either pass gas, pee or both? The joys of getting older!! OH and my back is hurting from all the coughing....what fun this is.

Sick

We are so sick here. I got whatever it is late Tuesday night. I have been down with it since. Miss A got it Wednesday and C'man Thursday. This is how it works, high fever, cough, soar throat, aches, you get the idea. It SUCKS! I actually was doing better Thursday and till 4pm Friday when my fever came back. Holy moly does a fever make you feel rotten. Poor little A had a 103 fever late Thursday night. She slept with DH in our bed and I slept on the couch. As of now, Saturday AM this is where we're at:
Me: miserable. No fever but my once sort of loose cough is now tight
C'man-fever and poor baby has blisters on his lips. He slept with me last night to keep close eye on him
Miss A-actually seems to be doing good!! Will see if it keeps.
DH-so far so good but God help us ALL when he gets this we are all in big trouble. He is the WORST sick person one will ever meet.

Oh Miss A and I did go to the doc on Wednesday and they tested for Influenza A and it was negative. However I was only 36 hours in to it. I'm supposed to call him if things get worse, as I think they are. Self diagnosing me? I think I have pneumonia or bronchitis. I think we all 3 had the 'flu'.

So yeah this is our life right now and we're just getting thru the day.

Netflix

How many of you are Netflix subscribers? We are and really enjoying it:) They sent to me in the mail coupons for a 'free' month trial.
I have 4 and would be more then willing to offer them to anyone that would like them. One/household. I can do it via the internet by just emailing you the priority code. Email me @ likelabs@yahoo.com if you are interested.

On the sick note, I tried to do full feed this evening for supper. BAD idea. So back to as little as possible and lots of water. I did get some organic/natural form of Gatorade today. That Gatorade was AWFUL. It gagged me to drink it. Like drinking cough medicine.

Feeling Yucky

I'm under the weather over here. I was up last night vomitting and you know the 'other' thing. Poor DH had to come to my rescue. Fanning my aching naked body with my arse in the stool and my head in a bucket. He was laughing so hard at me and you know what? I didn't give a rootin tootin!!
I'll be back when I start feeling better.

My Little Man

Seems that Mr C'man just can't kick this cold. It'll be 2 weeks this Sunday. BUT he was doing better, cough subsided, nose didn't run, etc till the last couple days. The cough is still loose, but deep. He's not sleeping well at night and his nose continues to run. While the drainage is clear, it's still there. Today he's just laying in the chair watching DVD's.
I prayed last night, like I've been doing faithfully for over 2 weeks now, that God would make it apparent what I need to do. With in 2 min. of saying amen, in came C'man to our room (DH was out late last night planting). I decided that was a pretty good sign that it's time to do something.
I'm further worried about everything b/c of the loss of Little Armstrong, reading about what would have been the 4th birthday of a little boy who died from complications of the flu.
Not to mention the constant rattle in his chest that all the docs so far, have said is nothing to worry about. Just things that a mother/parents worries about.
We're heading in today at 310 and get things checked out. For piece of mind I'm going to ask for a chest x-ray. I think it's time for some more extensive testing, for piece of mind that my little boy is OK. Or that maybe he has asthma or something?? Hopefully nothing. When he gets a cold he really gets it.
OH and as luck would have it, we're heading to my nieces Confirmation tomorrow. The last time we were supposed to go to Minnesota, we had to stay home b/c C'man was sick. Miss A actually was sick too.

My Nose

Real quick as we're getting ready to head out the door again. C'man has an ear infection. He was up early today crying, holding his ear, telling us how it hurt, etc. I tried an ear candle, did this 'Hear No Evil' herbal treatment which smells HORRIBLE. It required a bath. More crying, fussing, just crabby.

Miss A finally seems to be on the mend from her recent ear infection. But she still has a runny nose and will find me where ever I'm at telling me 'my nose, my nose' to which i wipe and send on her way. She's been up early and been crabby this entire last week.

I think she also has a yeast infection. How is that possible??? Of which I also think I have. Lovely, just what you came over on my blog to read right!?

THEN on Thursday i believe it was, we got an email regarding our Disney trip and that some how it got cancelled!!!!!!! Long story short the lovely Emily got it all fixed for us. We are now staying at Animal Kingdom in a MUCH better room!! There is live animals I guess right there! I checked out the rooms and must admit, I'm so excited!! We will never want to go back to Disney and have to stay at anything any less. This kind of stuff always happens to us. I really didn't panic TO much b/c i knew it wasn't our problem and that Disney/Emily would make it right. Therefore, if you have any travel plans coming up, contact Emily!

So now we are off to the local CuraQuick clinic. I need to get us ALL better. I have 4 days to do that. We are running to the doc Monday afternoon for an ear check on both now.

Never a dull moment here I tell you!!

Sick Kids

Typical 'mommy' post here folks. My baby's are sick. Miss A for over a week now and C'man for a couple days. I'm SO glad we didn't go to MN this past weekend, sister is cross with me tho. Both kids were running pretty good temps by Saturday evening. Needless to say we didn't go out to eat either. I went and got take out. I'm waiting for the doc office to call me back. Hate to rush in there only to find out it has to run it's course. I'm not a big fan of antibiotics either, I'd like to avoid them if at all possible. My friend Shannan is taking her kids to Dr Miller. I'd do that but when!?

Oh and Miss A will NOT take any form of medicine. She screams 'no mommy, no mommy'. It's just lovely around here i tell ya. BUT the weather is like Spring. It's raining out! AND its @ 60.

Cow's are loving it. They frolic around the field. Kicking there heels, running, just really fun to watch them. Although a couple hours ago one was standing in our yard. I yelled at it and it went back to the field. Dirty little bugger. Oh and the pigs!! They are still around. DH was very cross with them yesterday and they just about became pork chops today. He went to feed the cows and the pigs are in with them. Well the pigs got out and he had to chase them thru mud, snow, water, you get the idea.

Speaking of that all, did i mention that a couple weeks ago i got my first chicken egg. I've always been scared of chickens ( i don't like birds). No amount of convincing from my sister or niece would led me in to the coupe. Well C'man had brought me an egg one day when i was at the farm helping with cows. I thought that was so darn cute. SO i followed him back to the coupe. I imagined him talking to the chickens, and being all cute. In the coupe he went. I cautiouslly followed. It wasn't to bad. BUT i had him to distract them while i looked for eggs in the nests. It also helped that none of them were sitting in the nest. For sure then, i wouldn't have attempted. They peck you then. One of them ever pecks me, i'll break there neck. We only got 2 eggs b/c they'd been picked alread that day, but none the less, in the 10+ years i've been on the farm i finally did it. I'm not even 30% sure i want chickens at our place yet, we're still working on that. (the poop, and cleanliness of it all, freaks me out)

In other news:

A young family came and looked at the van yesterday. We're 75% sure it's sold. Will know when we have the cash in hand, which should be Thursday evening. What a relief it would be to have that sold.

Armstrong update:

Well it is not even Noon yet and we are wrestling with what might be some really bad news.
They have taken Armstrong off of his chemo and stopped his radiation. Hopefully only for a short period while they figure out what type of infection he has. :(
The doctor also signed the order for Army to get his wheel chair. This all just feels really bad. We are trying to keep our hopes up the best we can. It hasn't even been 3 months since he was diagnosed.
We just feel like we want to at least have a chance to fight this thing. And when they take away the chemo and radiation we are so helpless to this horrible illness.

I really have nothing more to say after that. I'm feeling very scared, helpless, for them all.

Crazy time

I feel like I'm a chicken running around with my head cut off. This week is CRAAAZY!! About 3 hours after i posted those pictures I was worshiping the porcelain god. Sorry no pics of that, oh heavens NO!! I got the flu going around. I did double duty (both ends) therefore i feel that's why after 12 hours i was feeling much better. But really, do ya think my husband could have kept the kids downstairs as i was upstairs puking my brains out?? No, Miss A had to pat my back and C'man had his stethoscope. Good grief.

By Thursday AM I was doing much better and last night I was doing a Ladies Night Out. I would have rather stayed home trust me, but the idea that i could be missing out on some good sales and prospective purse party hostesses i HAD to go. It wasn't bad. The weather here is just ROTTEN so i think that kept many, if not most, at home.

Today, Friday, was a style show in a nearby town. I wondered again as the wind blew me to town if it was worth it. Had to drop the kids off with FFS, so she had 5 kids under 3. Then i walked in and another person was there with jewelry and purses. BUT it all worked out I did sell a fair amount of items.

Tomorrow is our Spring Fling and after that I'm FREE!!! That would have been the time to get sick.

HOWEVER i must send out a big congrats to my first college roommate 'Ketta' on her engagement. We found one another again via 'facebook'. It's been great catching up, and even seeing one another. I can't wait to help with wedding planning and I already have an idea for colors. She wants her primary color to be red. Well since I'm all about 'inspirational pieces' I found something of Miss A's clothes that has red and 3 other colors. I need to share it with her first tho....Tell us tho, what color would you accent red with?? It'll be an April wedding....

Off and running.........

Still sick

I think it's been over 2 weeks that i've been battling this cold. It's time to head to the doc. I've heard, been told, that if it's over 1 - 1/2 weeks it's no longer 'just a cold'. I feel like crap. My head hurts, my teeth hurt b/c my sinuses hurt, and i'm sick of blowing my nose all the time. My MIL will be stopping over in a few minutes allowing me to run up to Sioux City unaccompanied by kids. I'm going to CuraQuick which is located in a super market. Do any of you have these? No appt needed and you literally pop in and pop out. $45, no insurance accepted. And NOW with the $5 prescription plan for generic meds, i'm thinking this sounds just BEAUTIFUL!! Seriously i'd rather pay out of pocket and get in and out, then pay my old co-pay of $30 and wait and wait. Does anyone else feel that way?

We have a wedding this weekend that will have to drive aways to get to and stay over 2 nites. I really don't want to be sick. I'm also praying knowone else gets sick. It's been over 1 week that we all were exposed to the flu.

I woke up to a dusting of snow too this AM. I had to laugh at my snow post a week ago. I labeled the title SNOW?? like DUH that's actually a question?? Why didn't I just label it SNOW....at any rate it since is gone but i ugged (is that even a word?) so loud when i saw it that C'man asked what was wrong. Gosh darn i wish the snow was gone and it was Spring.

April fools day today. Anyone April fool anyone?? I don't like being fooled. I used to love tricking people. I can remember telling my sister one April Fools day that there was a stray puppy at our door. IT was early Sunday AM so she had to get out of bed to come see it. Well when i said April Fool as she stood looking out the door, she wasn't very happy with me. In fact i think she might have pounded me. So yeah I don't do it any more. I don't have any idea on how to fool someone. I could tell you all i'm pregnant, but having been thru what I have, i just don't feel that's even funny. HAve you fooled anyone today? ever? what did you do? Indulge us.

More pukes

yeah this farm house is puking too i think! After FINALLY falling asleep @ 215 AM i woke up to C'man puking. Lovely, just lovely. So at 230AM i was doing laundry, moping the floor, etc. But DH, let me tell you if he ever had to get up and move within .5 seconds he'd never make it. Before he can put one foot out of bed he has to: figure out where he is, what is happening, where his glasses are and then he has to sit on the edge of the bed and further collect his thoughts. I really am giggling while i type this. HE just can not get up and go. Wow!! Then as he walks in to C's room I'm telling him, no yelling, that he's standing in the vomit!! Lovely just lovely! So yeah it was an eventful 20 min but after that we all settled in to our bed of which NEVER works out. C'man insists on snuggling right up next to me. No matter how many attempts i made to skootch him over he'd be right next to me. Eventually I tucked him back in to his own bed with the bucket right there.

WE all didn't wake up till 730. At which point i felt miserable. I think last night's Caucuses were to much for me. I couldn't fall asleep for nothing, tried a hot shower, Tylenol PM and then immediately after C's incident my mind was cleared of everything but him. Isn't it amazing how your mind works.

I just took a snoozer on the couch as my head is killing and my entire body is just throbbing. Kids are napping for what i hope is a very long time! DH is heading to the city to make a SAMS run. Laying low the rest of today and this weekend. Bland diets for everyone. For lunch C wanted 'orange peaches' I froze fresh peaches this past summer and well, they aren't very peachy looking now.
