Email

There are many things I don't blog about. Not b/c i don't want too, or feel I shouldn't, I just run out of time or something more precedent comes a long. One of those is that I have been in prayer about contacting C'mans BM (birth mom) MOM. Catch that all, i'll give you a moment to re-read that.
OK got it now? I email her b/c I do no have BM's email. This time of year always has me thinking back '3 years ago, or 5 years ago' that we were told we had been chosen. Then a few weeks later our first meeting with BM. Thru the years that has not changed. I talked to DH about what he thought about me emailing her mom about possibly wanting to see/meet C'man. He was always more then eager. I was the hesitant one. Not sure what can of worms I'd be opening. What would/could happen.
After much prayer about it I felt the Lord was laying in on my heart to go ahead and do it. It kept creeping back in to my heart and brain so I felt it was the Lord telling me to do it.
And do it is what I did. After weeks, months, heck even years, I emailed her specifically about seeing C'man. I requested that if BM is interested to have her please email me. That was last night I sent the email. And guess what!? this afternoon I got an email back. AND it was from BM herself!!

She briefed me on what her life has been like in the last 5 years. Lots of traveling, variety of jobs, and some hippie life styles:) Now her latest venture opening a restaurant in which she'd like us to come eat at:) She did say that while we are never forgotten she wants to pass on meeting. She said she wouldn't be able to do it w/o her mom being involved. She'd rather meet him w/o her mom as would we. She asked what we've been up too and I highlighted some things (school, Disney World, Ocean visits, me being a SAHM, chickens). She'd like to stay in touch, altho I'm sure it will be infrequent.

We have not had ANY contact with her since the day we left the hospital. IT was hard for ME to go from contact to NOTHING so I can't imagine what it was like for her.

I ended my email by telling her that I'm thinking of getting a tattoo. She will be thrilled to know that:) So yeah, we shall see where this goes. I do not plan on making it a regular occurrence of emailing. But glad to know I do have her email should something arise. And if she decides now is the time to see C'man, she can contact me.

Calling All Adoptive Moms

Oh man, I'm trying to take this all in at the moment. I just opened up an email from C'mans BM's MOM. Got that?? It's been YEARS since we've heard from one another. I'm going to ask for you honest help here. I'm even going to post the email. I know you may not be familiar with our adoption arrangement and really, there isn't one. OK enough let me just post it:
Hello,Not sure if this e-mail is still current, I just wanted to check. This is K...A mom. I wanted to just say hello. I think of you all every day. I couldnt sleep thinking about Mothers day, and wanted to send you the Mothers day Thank you. I have been re-married and we have a grandson also named C. I have a friend that is going through adapting a little boy right now, and it makes me think of what we all went through. We also discuss on many occasions what a wonderful thing it was.I hope all is well with your wonderful family! I never want to intrude, and it will never be an issue. We all know that it was a wonderful decision. I am just asking if I could get some pictures of your family. I have wanted to ask many times before, but I didnt want to intrude or make you feel uncomfortable.I do have a new e-mail address and it is you dont feel comfortable, I understand........I am just personally asking, maybe more for my parents for just some pictures of your family.thanks and I wish you a wonderful Mothers day!!!

Thoughts?? let me just say i'm by no means not happy to get this email. Honestly not many days go by that we don't think of BM and even her family. That being said, I've always felt that it should be BM's choice if she wants pictures. However, I know she is not going to contact me. Not a Mothers Day, B-day, etc goes by that we don't wish to have some sort of contact with her. To meet with her. Show her our beautiful boy. Is this a sign? An answer to prayers that I have since stopped praying for some sort of contact?

Mild anxiety attack. Your thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated and if you could be so kind to send other moms that can relate, over to my blog I would really really appreciate that.

I can't call my mom right now, they are out in Washington DC. DH is at the farm.

May Is Foster Care Appreciation Month

Please take a moment and listen to this. Actually it's about 30 min. I know I have readers who are foster parents and/or adopted thru Foster Care. My hats off to you!!! Know you are appreciated.
Broadcast Summary
The Rev. Bob Coy encourages listeners to consider how they can help orphans as he describes a program his church has begun which ministers to foster care kids. I hope this link works. If not here's another link.
I have tears in my eyes listening to this. Rev Coy does an AMAZING job of connecting with the listener! WOW!!!

Let's Talk About Adoption

Bear with me as I type this and listen to Miss A saying 'I'm ready to go' but she doesn't know where, and niether do I. (We aren't having the best of AM's. She has pooped her pants, whine like no tomorrow, thrown a couple fits, and well yeah that's just been within the last hour)
Yesterday I went to a local High School and spoke to a Family and Consumer Science class about adoption and parenting. There were 12 girls I believe. It was interesting. Definitely way different speaking to teens who either are pregnant (one of the girls is going thru an ectoptic pregnancy this is like #3???), or knew someone pregnant. Very possible that each one of those girls knew someone pregnant. Scary, but very likely. I had to be careful to not preach, or sell adoption. I was there to educate them on adoption being a viable option. They are getting ready to study adoption, hence me being there.
Because teen pregnancy is everywhere I really wanted them to know that adoption is really a great option if you are not ready to parent. Of course i can't tell them there is NO way they can, or that there parents shouldn't raise the child, etc but none the less, i did the best I could.
I shared what brought us to adoption. About our BM and our adoption experience in general. It ceases to amaze me at the lack of education. How many people think that if you place a baby for adoption you will NEVER see that child again. Or that it will be whisked away from you the minute he or she, is born leaving you just laying there trying to cope with what all just happened. It's not that way girls. I was asked if the BM could breastfeed the baby. Sure! I know families where the BM did that.
I said there are some BM's that spend holidays with the AP. Basically you as a BM can have as much openness as you desire. Do I recommend it? No. That's an entire different post.
It was a pleasant experience. Even tho Miss A clung to me and tooted the ENTIRE time. Or walking down the hallways, before the bell rang, and Mr C'man scared to death. Walking in to the teachers classroom to 7th graders just staring at you. Poor C'man he just freaked. Miss A, she was shy but she handled just fine. Eventually C'man did warm up to the room. I'm glad I was there 20 min early or I'd never been able to speak.
Oh yeah back to the 'talk'. I also told them what it was like parenting. Don't think you're going to be able to dress them in cute clothes and parade them all over. They cry, don't like there hair touched, spit up all over the clothes, clothes are expensive, they are colic, they poop everywhere at you are getting to leave, or just the mere fact you are exhausted from being up the night before. It doesn't get any easier. Take for instance to come talk there I had to wake Miss A up. She wasn't to happy. Mr C'man couldn't find his 'treat's' which he told me were in the garage. I was looking EVERYWHERE for them. We ran late b/c of it. Not to mention that as we are getting ready to leave Mr C has to go potty and doesn't button his pants up and can't find his other shoe.
Laugh as they did, it's real life. I noticed too, when I got home, I had one earring in my 3rd hole on one ear and the other earring in the first hole on my other ear. I thought yup, that's typical. I needed to get home b/c I had to get supper ready but before that I had to stop and buy cookies and balloons as my bribe for them to be good.
Now for me, this is great, being a parent. But not at 18 could I have done this!! That's what they needed to realize. I had information there about Bethany Christian Services which is the agency I used. None of them picked any of it up. I didn't think they would. BUT I left it with there teacher as I'm sure they will come in and get it.
I know there's lots I didn't touch here on my post that I discussed but I left feeling like I got it all covered. The teacher, who happens to be our neighbor, said I really hit on things wonderfully. I didn't preach but I was up front. She said the one thing that stood out was the happiness that BM gave us when she gave us the gift of adoption. She said at that age they don't understand what that means to a couple that can not have kids. Now they do.
Of course they ADORED C'man and when I'd say his name, he'd wave to me from the back of the classroom. They ooo'd and ahh'd at how much Miss A looks like Sierre Cruise (did i spell that right!)
I left saying that I'd love to adopt again. However it's expensive. I just pray that some day a situation will come to us. You never know, one of those HS girls may get in touch with us. Now wouldn't that be awesome. I hope most importantly, that others will look at adoption and see how beautiful it is.
In a couple weeks I'm speaking at a local church. I'll have to change my presentation quite abit. I don't think there will be any expecting girls in that group (they are all over 70).

Picture Problems

Get out of HERE!! I just had a post ready and it disappeared. GRRR So TAKE 2:

I'm having a problem with some of my pictures in that i click on say, a cute picture of the kids in the pool, and get ME looking like a dork. Anyone know what's going on? It's not all my pictures, just a/b 30 or so, but they are the cutest ones of the kids. Please help.

Then anyone know how i can reference back to a post or blog, with out listing the entire URL. I want to be able to say click here and have it take you to it. Or in what i'm going to share now from Wendi's blog i'd like to have it where you just click her name and it takes you. Oh wait!! i figured it out!! Golly darn!! OK now i have to see if it works.

At any rate please check out Wendi's blog. Her and her DH adopted a beautiful little boy and she recently found out she's pregnant. STOP right there!! Don't even think yeah that's what happens or say anything out loud to that effect. Read her post and you'll see why. I couldn't have said it any better then she did and i feel pretty darn close to the way she does.

Take a moment and read it please.

so here i am a BLOGGER

Well....here i am, a blogger!! I'd been thinking and thinking about doing this and here I am. So what am I going to do now.....hmmm....well from the name of my blog i'd like to share all the drama, i'm sorry STORIES, that come from my life. It's been suggested by my lovely g'ma gene, that I start keeping track of the stories. I'm going to blog about KIDS, life as a farmers wife, adoption, dogs, infertility, family, you name it you'll see it. I'm hoping to keep the entries short, something that is hard in my life.

As I set this up, we are in the midst of a MAJOR snowstorm!! No work for me accept here at home. The kiddos are BOTH napping, yes AT THE SAME TIME!! Addison couldn't stay awake in her highchair and Carson was a zombie while watching Curious George. Jeff is out taking care of the livestock and i'm hoping later this afternoon he'll get home to work on getting me lights upstairs!!

I'm going to go ahead and close so i can further mess around with my blog!!!
