Tractor For ???

DH has been talking about getting a newer, note NEWER, tractor. Just now he said he's really thinking about it as his friend said 'it's a good deal.' His friend is a salesman for John Deere. Wanna see what he's looking at??

Pretty snazzy eh?? or rather then ? I should use $$. I do trust DH to make a wise financial decision and he is NOT very compulsive so I'm not to worried. But at the same time I think man we could pay off our house & van by the time he pays for this.

BUT his sales pitch? It works/drives just like our lawn mower which means I can drive it. Or rather as he says 'you can help me' oh yes dear that sounds like such a great idea. Me driving a tractor worth more then me.
Really?? You think that's a good idea??
I told him I was going to blog about this tractor and he wanted me to wait till he finalized things as he 'may change his mind'. I'm like who cares? It's something to blog about:) BTW I had a picture of Miss A on this tractor but after uploading it I noticed she was na*ked. Oops deleted that from here:)

Imagine laying on the couch watching the Olympics (anyone else becoming an 'O' junkie?) and thinking you see something flutter in front of the screen. But think it must be exhaustion settling in, after all it IS 130AM. You shut the TV off only to realize that something just flew by your head. Holy CRAP it's a BAT!

Before you start thinking oh my GOSH let me say this is what happened to DH, not me! Thank GOD. I was upstairs sleeping peacefully when i heard a horrible racket going on. A combination of thumping and screaming. I started yelling from the bed, upstairs, 'What's going on??'. I'd hear nothing. Eventually i hear 'There's a BAT'.

I carefully slinked down the stairs and peak thru the door to see DH sitting on the couch with a blanket in front of him. The bat was in every room in .1 second I swear. I so wish i could have had the video camera b/c DH's reactions were HILARIOUS! He had the front door open, which leads right outside and one window that doesn't have a screen. The dogs were in the other part of the house freaking out. Climbing the walls and gate to get at it. Eventually DH yells 'I'm out of here' and jumps OUT the front door! We have no porch and he had no shoes. Out he went.

He then went around to the side doors and came in that way where he came armed with bat gear, a tennis racket. EVENTUALLY the bat was swatted with the racket but not before i had 3 dogs tearing thru the house, the neighbors cows started mooing and I'm thinking if the neighbors hear this all going on they are going to for sure call the cops. Ever notice how quite it is outside at 130AM! I sure as heck did.

1hr later we both were in bed. DH came to bed WITH the bat racket. I made him disinfect it thoroughly and asked if he'd please sleep downstairs and be on bat patrol. Didn't fly. I think it was 3 AM before I fell back to sleep. Just when i thought I'm going to fall asleep, I'd start laughing at the nights events. You should here DH scream. He says he doesn't scream but I'm not sure what else to call it. OK he says it's a SHREEK not a scream. Whatever, it was VERY funny.

Last time we had a bat we had 2 in one night and i swear i didn't want to even accidentally touch him for feel he'd whack me with the racket! Last night was no bats, i made DH stay downstairs tho just in case.

Do any of you have a bat story you'd love to share??

Oh and DH asked what I would had done had he not been home? I said call 911!

10 Years of Marital Bliss

DH and I celebrated 10 years yesterday (June 28th). I was able to find a new, and great, babysitter and we headed to the city for supper and errands. Nothing romantic in fact DH fell asleep before me and I stayed up late reading! But it was nice to run errands without kids. We ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant where the food is great, it's fast, and the service has been A++. Although i did get something I didn't order, or there was a misunderstanding, but I did get what I wanted and quickly.

Afterwards we ran to SAMS where we picked up the usual, dog food, cat food, lemonade and I think that was about it. Oh a present for Laura:) Those items are our staples!! Usually diapers too but we're going thru less and less of them these days!! Potty training here we come!!

We went to a variety of clothing stores trying to find denim shorts and shirts for DH. I don't think i updated this since requesting advice on air travel to NJ. That's DONE we're going!! Actually July 9th!! Coming right up. However, DH has NOTHING for clothes. I mean it too!!

I'm going to share this little story and I guess I'll find out if DH reads this. We were in Younkers and DH INSISTS that he can still wear the same size he wore 10 years ago!! What is up with that men?? Really, it's not going to make us think any different if you have to go up ONE size!! So he grabs this shirt in a XL, i think it was. I didn't like it. It was one of those waffle knit, boob showing shirts. You know one of those men who think they have pecks they need to flaunt but since they can't go shirtless they wear theses kind of shirts. I didn't like it. I knew it wasn't going to fit. But i thought FINE go try it on.

In the mean time, the sales associate working is in the area and being that I just returned a pair of dress slacks that were TO SMALL, i knew I could recruit her to help. He's insisting that the shirt fits, I'm insisting HELL NO!! I suggested we ask the sales associate. You know where this is going???

I push him in front of me i stand directly behind him. I ask 'so what do you think of this shirt?'. DH 'models' it for her while I'm standing there shaking my head, doing the cut throat thing, you get the idea. She politely says 'well I think a size larger might be better'. (i knew there wasn't a size larger) THANK YOU SALES ASSOCIATE!!!!

OK so don't attack me. It really was to small. One washing and it would for sure be known as his boob shirt!! I can't him humiliating Laura and Mario while in NJ!!!

So yeah, shopping with him is HORRIBLE!! He agrees. He kept saying I'm going shopping by myself next time!! But we did end up with some shorts and shirts. I think he's set!! I can say i got NOTHING! Oh wait i got a pair of 'Iowa' shorts. It says IOWA on the arse! Probably not what i should be attracting attention to at the beach eh??

I have some great pics to post at a later date of the kids and life on the farm. Make sure you check out http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/page/?o=3Tzut&page_id=81313&v=1a you'll see me on his website!! Looking just HORRIBLE I look like i have a pole coming out of my head!! Darn wind!!

Working Cattle

For those of you thinking DH got beat up over some hot Thomas toy @ Target, fear not. He actually was beat up (by me) while working cattle. Let me explain. The day after T'giving isn't only for shopping but the day DH, his brother, dad and the vet work cattle. Working cattle means shots and de-nutting them. You know, Rockie Mountain Oysters?? Ever heard of them?? Well it's the nuts/testicle of a cow!! EWWW but you want to know what?? there are Rocky Mountain Festivals around here!! and 'stags' where the men EAT THEM!! They are a delagasie!! Yup people actually eat them. Around here the only ones eating them are the dogs and that grosses me out to no end then we're talking people eat them??? oooffftttaa.
In order to do this someone, DH, had to coral the cow into a shoot. From there the gate is slammed shut (brothers job), and well you know the other 'stuff is done' Well DH is the lucky one that usually ends up getting the cow coraled. The vet is a chicken and wants to do things in a more complicated way then DH and brother prefer which means more stress gets put on the cow. I mean come on, would you like to be shoved in a shoot and then realize you're going to get your manly hood chopped off. So the cow kicked DH in the knee and the door got slammed shut on his face.
That's what happened to poor dh. Every year he can get pretty beat up but this is the worse. Now he's hobbling around and that blood won't come off of his nose. His head is looking much better and actually so is his nose. I'll have to take an updated picture much to his displeasure.
There you have it. I know i have some readers that aren't familiar at all with this 'farming' stuff so if you have any questions, ask away:) Or email me.

Why NOT to go shopping....

This is what happens when you go shopping the day after Thanksgiving....
