Day three

Well it's not day three of this lovely snowstorm!! Although....the sun is out and it just doesn't look as bad now that the sun is shinning. The wind has gone down SOME maybe 20-25 mph, however they still are advicing no travel. DH (in the infertility world DH stands for Dear Husband, although I'm not sure if the rangs true ALL the time) is out scooping out our neighbor. He wasn't real thrilled with me volunteering him to do that. He was over there feeding the cows and said he didn't think anyone was home because the snow drifts were so big right in front of her house. I emailed her and she's at work. HOWEVER, the dogs have been in the house since probably thursday!? Can we say eww...Anyway, he's over there now probably cussin a blue moon at me.

Carson and I ventured out this AM. I wanted pictures and Jeff said 'i know how about YOU go out, you need fresh air' I was like You know i think i will!! So i put on his overalls and C and I got bundled up to head out in to the elements. Drifts are tall and the wind has made some amazing creations with the snow!! Carson liked me to put him on top of the drifts and then he'd slide down. He'd get stuck and say HELP and he always has an emphasis on the P! We lasted about 30 min before i convinced him it was time to get inside for some hot coco. And we made it in with NO protests!!

Addie stayed inside obviously with Jeff. Next year she'll want to come out with us. Oh wait, i think she's going to be are little princess. She'll want to stay inside where it's warm and has all the imenities with in her reach. But when she does get outside she'll make C pull her in the sled.

Oh and lastly, old yellow...how about a front view of the pickup. I think it growled at me when i took this picture not humored by the piles of snow all around him. He looks sad doesn't he. He's wondering if spring will ever get here!

The old yellow pickup

Well here we are, day 2 of this lovely Midwest blizzard!! I have more pics of the emphamis pickup!! That pickup....it's one of those that you sit down and you get a puff of dirt in your face, or worse yet when you shut the door the entire insides just moan and sometimes even a mouse can be seen. That reminds me of a story of when Jeff and I were dating. I was in that pickup and and he says 'so you like mice?" ummm excuse me?? I said well I don't know (being a city girl, as much as one can be in a rural community) . He said 'good, because one just looked at you!" WHAT?! I used to hate this pickup but then I started to like it. It has character. It's Jeffs brothers, i thought it was his dads. It's great, we haul the dogs in it, a calf has ridden in it, people, my GRANDFATHER that's an entire laugh your butt of story in of itself. Many of days Jeff can be seen going down the road with 3 dogs hanging off the side. Oh and when we had pigs Jeffs dad would deliver them to market in this pickup. So it has a lot of history and i really like it. It's sad to see it all out there burried in a big ol' snowdrift. probably won't start till Spring!!

So, on a my life has drama part, I was making supper and letting it simmer on the stove. While sitting in the den with Jeff and kids i hear something crackling...i was like what's burning. OH MY GOSH IT'S SUPPER!!! NOPE it was crackers, container of water, ON FIRE!! The WRONG burner was on. Not the first time i've done this but i'm convinced I did NOT turn that burner on!! But none the less, crisis diverted with Jeffs quick thinking to shut it off. Needless to say my house STUNK!! My mother in law happen to come over and said why are the windows open? Oh my what happened?? And continued to lector ME on why i shouldn't have ANYTHING on the burner. Whatever, i'll just go eat some humble pie....
