I'm back here at our room with 2 sleeping children. DH is off to Hollywood Studios to see the Indiana Jones stunt show. We saw the Lion King show this AM @ Animal Kingdom and it was fabulous. It was a live show. Little to loud tho for the kids. We should have brought ear plugs for them. They spend more time with there hands over there ears then they don't. C'man will take the scariest ride as long as it's not noisy.
After our show we boarded the bus to head to Magic Kingdom. There DH and I did the swap pass and each got to ride with C'man on a roller coaster. It was quite 'calm' compared to the Everest one @ Animal Kingdom. It was thrilling for C'man. Miss A could have handled it too if she was taller.
After that we rode the Haunted Mansion. I remember that one from when I came. It was frightening for the little ones. Miss A said she liked it but C'man did NOT! We ate and then walked around a little more. It's so frustrating to see 30 min waits for the kids favorite rides, like Dumbo or the Tea Cups. The ride itself only last 3 min, if that.
We have many 'snacks' left on our meal plan so we got ice cream. What I'm about to tell you has probably been the part of the trip I have laughed the hardest. So there are these seagulls EVERYWHERE waiting to take your food. I refuse to eat outside anymore b/c of them. Well this little kid had an ice cream cone and as he was walking to his table, not once but TWICE, a bird came in and leveled off his cone. The look on his face was priceless. We so should have had the camera rolling. I about pee'd my pants! DH wanted to send c'man up to get ice cream and then tape him coming to us with it. I wouldn't let him. We had such a time watching and waiting, with our camera for the next unsuspected person to get attacked. The best was the man walking with an ice cream cone and a kid. Fortunately he stayed under the awnings. I missed the man (@ 30) with 2 cones get bombed but I did see his expression. I'm just laughing so hard as I re-tell all of this.
Who would have thought, but we saw people from our town today!! The odds of that happening I'd say are pretty rare.
In other thoughts, some people simply should not be allowed to re-produce while i see other families that are the nicest looking families I'm just like holy cows. Some are so nicely dressed that I can't help but wonder if they are more worried about appearance and have no idea that they are at DW, or is that just there 'culture' to appear put together. Then again, there are far more where you're like OK, it costs what $100+ to get in here and you wear that!?
I've heard many parents freaking out on there kids, begging them to eat, or have spats. I heard one mother and daughter (mother 65 daughter 40!?) in the biggest disagreement as to why they were here it made me realize i will NEVER come here as an entire family. (Mother felt she was just being told what and where to go, while daughter explained that they were 'here' for the dance team girls and they simply asked her parents to come). I just think to come as an entire extended family, would be to much. If the parents are footing the bill then the kids and g'kids feel obligated to do what they want, all while missing so many great things b/c the 'parents' are not wanting to walk and walk. My advice, give them money to come to DW and YOU stay home:)
OH and the other family I met. That was last night at the pool. They were one of those 'cute, nice looking' families. Mom, Dad and 2 daughters. They were from Canada and could totally relate to our cold weather we have back in Iowa. altho, they sound colder. They were a little disappointed in the accommodations here and got adv iced to do the 'deluxe' meal plan where they ALL got to to choose an appetizer, meal, drink, AND dessert. WAY to much food. The dad was a little fired up about it:) I don't blame him b/c even we had more then enough food and we just had the basic. He wondered if b/c they were Canadians they got suckered for more money. I said 'oh yeah you didn't get the AWESOME USA discount, that's to bad'. He about jumped out of his shoes. I quickly had to tell him I'm only kidding:)
Before I left I should have printed out cards with my blog on. They were another family that I told about my blog. She's a SAHM too!I think it's totally awesome that the last two families I've talked to, not even from the USA, are SAHM's. Oh our conversation last night did turn political. She said she followed our politics on the TV and when I asked who she would have voted for, she thought O'bama. REALLY!? I said. I then informed her of his liberal stance on issues such as abortion, gay marriage, health insurance 'ideas', taxes, etc. Said that most of his cabinet that he has appointed so far are some of the wealthiest democrats there are who have NOT paid there taxes. Amazes us that Democrats are for the 'working class' when our taxes are going to rise AND they aren't even paying taxes. what kind of example is that. She stated that she had no idea about all of that Being very pro life, she never knew anything about his stance on that. Ahhh HA it's b/c the media was so slanted in there views they only covered O'bama!!!!
Grrr....anyway, tomorrow we leave and I must admit, I'm ready. I'm ready to get back to our normal life. I feel like we are living in some fantasy land (I know we are) We go to bed late, eat horrible, ride rides, snack when we feel like it, swim, etc I think I'm going to have a rude awakening when i get back home with getting the kids back to eating healthy and taking naps!
