In follow up to my previous post about the recent gay marriage I have some information that backs up my feelings. Not sure if any of you are going to check out the links, but I feel I need to post them. The first if from Focus On The Family. Its about 5 min?? and the broadcast continues on.
Then the following from the Iowa Christian Alliance. April 3, 2009, the Iowa Supreme Court overturned the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) passed in 1998, and so now it is up to WE THE PEOPLE to show our legislators that they must LET US VOTE on a constitutional amendment.
This decision isn't only about "moral issues" - this is a breach of the constitutional separation of powers! The Iowa Supreme Court has attempted to make law - which is NOT the role of the judicial branch.
This decision is anti-family AND unconstitutional!
We need to tell legislators - "take your power back!"
If you check out this website for an entire page of information. Very good information!!

In my opinion, people don't get behind this issue because God loves you anyway. Sin until you're green, confess annd you're good to go. The new wave I see that has stuck is that God loves everyone. No matter how you live. Some even change the Bible to suit them. Changing the verse wording to be like God is just a fun-loving, hippy type God. :( When really, He made Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Evan.
Now I don't talk about this, ever, but my dad was gay. Some assume that because my dad was, I must be or some stupid thing. I struggled with knowing that for many years. It made me crazy! He picked up the HIV virus and eventually it turned to AIDS and killed him. My parents divorced when I was young so I didn't ever see him again after I was 4. Because of the virus and the unknowns of it back then.
I absolutely believe that is a lifestyle that is wrong. But I love my dad anyhow just from the time I do remember with him.
A lot of people maybe don't understand that you can love the person but 100% dissagree with what they do/believe. I don't hate my dad because he chose to live in sin. We prayed for him until he died when I was 13. Eventually my Uncle said he did accept Christ and that he had lived the wrong life. But none of us will ever know for sure.
Anyhow...I probably didn't make a bit of sense. Thank you fo rposting this stuff. :) It's nice to know someone still cares about marriage being man/woman!!
